1894 Winchester Rifle with Octagon Barrel, .30-30 cal, MFG EARLY 1897
Serial number 81,900 range
The gun has a tang peep on it, correct for the period.
The barrel and magazine have about 90% factory blue remaining, and the receiver has about 30% original blue remaining.
All things considered, this is a solid 70% gun.
It's a FANTASTIC deal for a model 1894 that was made in 1897. In the 2015 BLUE BOOK OF GUNS VALUES, very early model 1894's are in a whole different price league compared to model 94 guns with serial numbers ABOVE 148,000. (see 2015 Blue book of gun values). They have their own seperate price structure, comparied ro model 1894's made AFTER 1898. To explain what a great deal this is - there is another antique Winchester 94 .30-30 octagon rifle for sale on Guns International, serial number in the 135,000 range, and that gun is in similar condition, (with a tad more blue left on the receiver) ....but not as old. The other gun is for sale at $2700.
Action is tight, and rifling is very good, no pitting.
My rifle is priced at only $1650 ! More than $1000 LESS! Time to wake up and see the great deal here, or this one will GO AWAY forever..... (it is listed on another site and could sell at ANY time).
