Description:
Serial #74819, .38 S&W, 3 1/4” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that retains 95-97% of the original blue finish with only some very mild silvering at the muzzle, on a few of the high edges, and some light flaking and freckling on the gripstraps. There is a slight turn-ring on the cylinder, and the hammer and trigger have most of the original color case-hardening remaining. The checkered hard rubber grips are likewise in excellent condition with only traces of wear and practically no flattening of the points. The lock-up is solid and the mechanism functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a correct, unnumbered dark brown box with intact paper end label and “BLUED” surcharge sticker. The box is in very good shape with some light edge and corner damage, some old cello-tape repairs, as well as having the lid detached. Also included are an original bore brush, and a small glass vial of “Oilright” oil with rolled advertising flyer. This is a terrific example of an Iver Johnson Safety Revolver and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
