Description:
Early Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" DA Revolver - ejectorless - Cal. .38 - 4 1/2" Bbl. - SN 38XXX(1882) - Rosewood grips. Excellent bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling and only a couple of minor rough spots - action is excellent in both SA and DA with perfect timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion - barrel retains 95% blue - etched "COLT DA .38" panel is faint but visible - cylinder has about 95% blue - backstrap 90% with some thinning. Traces of case color remain on frame, about 25% to 30%. Scarce early style Rosewood grips are undamaged with perfect checkering. An exceptionally nice and all original early ejectorless "Lightning" with the desirable and hard to find Rosewood grips and German silver halfmoon front sight - will make a great addition to an early Colt or Old West collection.
