Description:
German/Austrian Cape Combination gun.  Below is a note that the original owner had written about the history of this gun.
"I’ve decided to part with one of my favorite guns since I’m just not using it any more. This gun was made in Ferlach, Austria - a whole town of gunmakers. I acquired it at a gun show in Stuttgart, Germany in May of 1988 from a German hunter. The action was loose and the stock was an extremely plain piece of wood, cracked aMcross the grip. The action was re-built and a new stock made from scratch from a nice piece of English walnut by Master gunmaker Claus Jarzombek of Stuttgart. I’m not normally a big fan of the Bavarian style stock, but it just seemed to fit with the exposed hammers and looks of the gun and I asked him to replicate the original stock complete with fish scale checkering. The scope is an extremely bright Kahles 6X Austrian scope that really makes things pop out in dim early morning or late evening light. The hand fitted claw mounts make it possible to remove and install the scope in a matter of seconds with no shift in zero. This is not just advertising hype, as I’ve fired some very small groups removing and replacing the scope between each shot. The 16ga barrel is chambered and proofed for modern 2 ¾” shells and is fired by the rear trigger. The rifle barrel is chambered for the 5.6x50R cartridge which is popular in Europe for hunting the small Roe deer. This caliber is basically a slightly hotter version of a .223, but with a rim. It takes the standard .224 bullet. The front, (rifle trigger) is a single set trigger which can be fired un-set, or pushed forward to set it. Once set, the trigger breaks at a few ounces. It has taken one whitetail doe here in the States and will do so cleanly if you shoot a heavy (60gr or 70gr) bullet and pass on all but broadside shots. It really shines as a varmint gun with the 16ga for close shots at called in fox or coyote and the rifle for longer shots.".........Stock finish more of a matt finish but I had just wiped the wood with an oiled cloth.
