Description:
SOLD...Antique 1892 Winchester. 38-40. Round barrel. Very good bore. Here is another pretty nice ole 92.  S/N 102629 and made in 1895. It Is in the great shooting 38-40 caliber. Has the standard 24" barrel. The bore is very good. Strong sharp rifling all the way through. Has some very minor roughness but no big pits. NO rings or bulges. This gun shoots great and VERY accurate.. The mechanics are excellent. It feeds, fires and ejects perfectly and is very accurate. NO bulged cases and no backed out primers. The metal has some blue remaining also. The left side of the receiver has about 40% blue remaining. The right side has just traces to the rear of the receiver where it has been protected. The barrel and the mag tube has blue remaining in between the two were protected. Maybe 20% or so. Also the barrel shows some blue along the forearm. The balance of the metal is a smooth medium brown patina. It does show some small spots of very minor pin prick roughness behind the rear sight by the caliber markings on the barrel and just a little on the bottom and front side of the receiver.  Again, this is very minor and nothing bad at all. The lever has case colors in the section that is protected when closed inside the receiver. The balance of the lever has "silvered out" very nice as the aged case colors do. All the markings are very good. The screw heads for the most part are all very good and not all burred up from tinkering. Has the original correct front sight. The rear sight is a newer replacement Marbles. The wood is very nice on this one. The forearm is tight and prowd to the metal all around. Has one tight grain split on the front bottom behind the end cap about 4" to 5" long. It is not going anywhere. I will be glad to send a photo of it so you can see. Has the normal bumps and dings and a couple gouges but is solid. The butt stock is very nice. NO splits or cracks. It fits tight and prowd to the metal. The left side still retains about 30% original varnish. Just traces on the right side. None of the wood has been sanded on or messed with. All in all, a very nice lookin ole 92. Has a very nice bore with some nice blue remaining for the money. Antique 92's are not easy to come by and usually have no finish. This one is a way better than average I would say. I have sold a few in this price range with very little to no finish in the last few weeks so I think this is a very good deal. $50 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. I want happy customers that can see what they are paying for. Please check out my other items I have for sale while you are here. Maybe some at a reduced price.
