Serial# 31xxxA Mfg. 1930. A very nice 54 which has miraculously managed to escape the commonly seen alterations for scope use such as grossly deformed bolt handles and associated underlying wood, replacement safeties, drill holes, etc. etc. Rear receiver bridge is undrilled! Retains about 90% blue overall with heavier wear on floor plate common to this model. 95% Wood finish with one area of notable dings R side below receiver. The 24" barrel is equipped with a period King "reflector" front sight to accompany the factory inletted and installed long slide Lyman 48 peep, each of which have considerable value on their own. Also has a Marbles rear sight which serves no apparent purpose that could and should be tapped out and replaced with filler. This rifle even has what appears to be the original factory sling with unique factory tied knots...amazing given the age. Overall, a fine 54 ready to go to work or add to the collection.
