Colt 1862 Police .36 cal BP. serial #35822 made in 1867. 51/2" barrel. one line barrel address "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK USA", Colts Patent on the frame and 36 cal on the trigger guard. Numbers match on the frame,trigger guard , back strap, and the barrel. No numbers on the cyl or the rammer. Bore is dark but there is still a lot of rifling left. Replacement wedge. Finish is grey/brown patina with some scattered pitting and dings. Action works properly. These pistols saw heavy use after the civil war in the westward expansion. This is a better than average example.
