Description:
SOLD...Antique 1894 Winchester. 30-30 Caliber. Octagon barrel. Famous  W.F. Sheard Tacoma Washington marked barrel so this gun was western shipped !!! Excellent bore and Mechanics. Here is a very nice and well above average antique 1894 Winchester. Early S/N range 25636 and made in 1895 seceond year production. Has the standard 26" barrel. The bore is excellent. NO pitting or roughness with just some very monior frosting.. Excellent and strong rifling all the way through. Will probably clean to shiny. Just an outstanding bore on this one. Mechanics are excellent as well. Feeds, fires and ejects flawlessly. Fantastic shooter. Hammer notches are perfect. The metal is very nice as the photos show. The receiver has very nice traces of blue on both sides. The barrel some nice blue remaining as well. The bottom flats have all the blue on both sides where it has been protected by the mag tube. There are some areas of blue on the balance of the barrel but has thinned out. The mag tube has about 30% blue and is in the area where protected by the barrel. Lower tang still has about 50% of the blue remaining also. Just very nice metal on this gun. The markings are all excellent as well. AS you can see is has the famous W.F. Sheard Tacoma Wshington dealers name stamped behind the rear sight. Also this gun has had a tang sight mounted on the upper tang. I removed the sight because the base was bent a little bit and it needs to be straightened out. I will be listing it later if the buyer wants it put back on. As you can see, the tang sight was added probably when the gun was new as there is quite a bit of blue on the upper tang. Has some minor scratches around upper tang screw but no damages.. Has the original rear sight still intact. The front sight has had the blade replaced with a taller one probably to match the sight picture with the tang sight. This was probably done so you could still use the gun with its original sights and not have to remove the rear sight as you usually have to do when you mount a tang sight. The wood is very nice. The forearm has no cracks or splits. It fits tight and prowd to the metal and shows just a few minor scratched and dings. The butt stock fits tight also with no cracks or splits and shows just a few minor dings and scratches and a very small chip at the end of the lower tang{see photo}. It does however show a small square of wood 1/2" by 1/2" notched out for a sling swivel. It is not very deep. About 1/16" and would be an easy repair if so desired. The screws are all nice and not all burred up but the upper tang screw shows some honest use. Just a real nice and honest ole antique 94 that show some use but NO abuse. These antique 94 and 92's are getting very hard to find as the short time period they were made beforew 1898. You know this one was shipped about as far north west as you can possibly get !!! These 94's were the guns that killed more game than probably any other rifle but the 73's. They are still very sought after still today and in the great condition this one is in would make someone an excellent collector, hunter, shooter for any Winchester fan.  Every antique firearm collector or shooter has to have an antique 94 in 30-30 in their collection !!! It is THE rifle. $50 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Don't miss this one !!!!!
