Description:
SOLD.....Antique Smith & Wesson Rare 2nd Model DA .32 with holster rig. Here is a very neat ole rig. A VERY early Smith & Wesson DA .32 2nd model. This is the hard to find 2nd model. Has the standard 3" barrel. S/N is very early 221 and all matching. No doubt 1st year production made in 1880. Only made from 1880 to 1882 !!!! AS you can see it still retains some of the original nickel finish. The barrel has maybe 10%. The cylinder has no finish and the frame has about 40% or so. The balance is a clean and smooth aged gray brown patina that has not been cleaned on or messed with. No pitting on the gun. The blueing on the trigger guard had faded to a gray brown patina also. The pearl grips are very nice and show great color and are in near excellent condition. The mechanics are very good. It works in DA and SA mode with good lock up. A very crisp and tight gun. Just not as tight as new but still in very good working order.. Extractor still works perfectly. Still has tight barrel to frame lock up at the latch. The bore is good with strong rifling with just some minor roughness as to be expected. The chambers are very good also. The belt and holster realy set this outfit off. Fits the gun like a glove. The belt looks like it has been patched together over the years. Has .32 caliber bullet loops. The belt is about 36" long from the buckel to the center hole in the tong. Has some decorative beeds, ect. Very cool looking outfit here. Nice honest set here that has a lot of eye appeal and sure to draw attention. Hard to find gun alone with the pearl grips. Not many 2nd models have survived and the extras just add the icing to the cake. I am pricing this very reasonable and will make someone a great looking set. $20 insured mail.
