IMPERIAL JAPANESE HIGH RANKING ARMY STAFF OFFICER’S KYU-GUNTO SWORD AND SCABBARD CIRCA 1900-20’S. 38” o/a with 27 ¼” unsigned blade. Very high quality gilded mounts with back strap of hilt having a silver family mon (crest) of a member of the nobility. Sharkskin grip with fancy triple grip wire. Original hand made blade with undulating temper line in excellent plus to near mint polish. Nickel plated scabbard with a few spots of surface rust but with 98% finish remaining.
