WHITNEY/N. HAVEN” barrel address. Serial numbered in the 14,xxx range and all matching. Shipped as part of the June, 1862 contract for 7000 revolvers. Government inspected with the letter “B” sub-inspectors stamp on both sides of the barrel and the left grip with faint inspectors cartouche. Original dark grey patina overall with some very light salt and pepper. Some darkening on barrel which will improve with attention. Excellent grips with old original military finish. Working order and good bore. Many were shipped to Western U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiments including Colorado (1st, 2nd and 3rd), Illinois (7th,11th and 15th) , 9th Kansas and Minnesota (1st and 2nd).
