Pre-Model 27, S & W .357 Magnum Revovler, Pinned Barrel with rare 4 inch Special Barrel Length Variation. Smith and Wesson records indicate that this handgun was shipped from the factory on April 22, 1957 to H.H. Harris Company in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Harris had a gun shop located just south of the old Chicago Police HQ at 1121 S. State St. Many of the Chicago Police purchased their firearms from Harris Company. According to the S & W forum online only a handful of these revolvers have ever surfaced that were produced in this 4 inch barrel length for the pre-model 27. This may be your only opportunity to ever own this scarce variation of an already vey desirable Smith & Wesson revolver. The pistol comes complete with an original Jinks Letter from Smith and Wesson verifying all this data. Excellent Plus condition.
