Description:
#9036, Beretta O/U Sidelock Ejector Model S3EL 12 Bore Made in 1951 with 27 1/2" Acciaio Inossidabile Excelsior Steel Barrels with a Hand Filed Solid Rib at .726 .004 & .008" (Skt.I & Imp.Cyl.), Original 2 3/4", 1.365 KG weight barrels, Double triggers with the front trigger articulated, Game forend with finger grooves, Straight hand stock at 14 5/8 x 1 5/16 x 2 1/8" over a 7/8" pad, Slight cast-off for the right hand, 7 lbs., It has a super piece of wood that borders on being an exhibition piece with great black & brown color contrast, It has 100% coverage of great floral engraving with roses done with a very fine scroll background plus neat floral borders by M. Slatnik and signed, All early Beretta's done by Slatnik are special pieces as he was one of the leading Italian engravers of this era; This piece has 9 retainer screws, including the replaceable locking shoulders on the barrel, which secure key screws on the frame, forend and trigger guard, I believe the barrels were reblacked a long time ago and very professionally done, All lettering sharp and very difficult to tell they were reblacked, The buttstock might have been re-oiled but not refinished and it remains in 94% condition with light handling marks only, The checkering is original and remains at 98%, The bores are excellent plus, It remains a very stout mechanical gun in every respect. Here is a 1951 Quality Sidelock that has at least 94-95% of its mechanical life left for the balance of your sporting days. Buy this piece here for $7950 or order a new one for about $30K, you are the judge.
