Israeli FN Mauser K98, Caliber 7.62, Serial Number 5088XX.
Beautiful is the only way to describe the rifle. Ordered by the Israel Defense Forces shortly after the big WWII for the defense of their new homeland. The gun retains at least 93-95% of the original factory finish. The bolt and receiver/ barrel assembly match. The floor plate and trigger guard assembly do not match and are Waffenamt stamped. These parts are from the early IDF Mausers purchased from Czechoslovakia. The original Israeli Defense Forces Mausers were Czech captured Nazi k-98s. The gun has a beautiful solid walnut stock that shows almost no wear and is marked according to Israeli regulation on the toe "7.62". The condition overall is just super. The Nazi parts do show some slight wear. The gun was imported by Arms Corp, of Md. The receiver is marked with a big Star of David, a sword with an olive wreath, and a banner with Israeli characters. The side has the Israeli Defense forces Hebrew characters. The bore is astounding. It appears to be factory new with razor sharp and mirror bright rifling. There is no sign of graying. The gun comes with an original Israeli 98k sling. For the history buff, what stories this little beauty could tell.
