Nice Winchester Model 1890 22 Short, Third Model Takedown with British Proof Marks.
Serial # 42xxxx, Manufacture in 1910.
From what I know this gun went to England for basic training for the British Troops.
It was probably brought back to the US after WWI by an American.
Own a gun that perhaps your Great Granddad or Grandfather trained with in England.
