This is a fine example of the only double action revolver purchased by the Union Army during the Civil War. The frame, cylinder, and ejector rod retain a remarkable 80-85% of the original blue. The barrel about 40-45%. The trigger guard and grip straps have grayed. There is no rust or pitting anywhere to speak of. All parts match with the proper inspectors "B" stamp on the barrel, trigger guard, and frame. The walnut grips still have about 90+% of the original lacquer with some very slight nicks on the bottom edges. The left grip has a very nice chief inspector's cartouche, L.A.R. The gun functions perfectly and locks up tight. The chambers are unusually clean and the nipples are not battered. The bore is extremely bright and sharp with one small patch of graying. All indication are that the gun has seen little if any service. A handsome addition to any collection and value priced. $1895.00
