Description:
This is a Springfield Model 1884 Cadet in .45-70. The trapdoor is marked "U. S. MODEL 1884", and has patina and light pitting on it. The right sideplate is blued with patina, and is marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" with an eagle to the left of the markings. The barrel is mainly patina, with slight pitting, from wear, use, and aging. The stock has multiple chips, scratches and dings, from wear, use and aging. The steel buttplate is stamped "US" and "102". The stock has a slight cartouche on the bottom behind the trigger guard, that is a "P" in a circle.
