Description:
This is a Springfield Model 1884 in .45-70. The trapdoor is marked "U. S. MODEL 1884" and the right sideplate is marked "U. S. SPRINGFIELD" with an eagle to the left of the markings. The trap door is case hardened, and is mainly covered in light surface rust and patina. The right sideplate is blued, showing light surface rust and patina from use and aging. The barrel is worn around the muzzle, and is mainly light rust and patina. The buttstock has a steel buttplate marked "US". The wood stock has multiple minor scratches and dings, from aging and use. The left side of the buttstock is marked "5 D 36" in red paint, and there is a cartouche on the left hand side just above the trigger.
