The grips are in excellent condition. No cracks,chips,dents or dings.Corners have rounded off smoothly. Nice and smooth with beautiful age lines. There is a small "H" on the front of the left grip. The grips have turned to a dark yellow in some places, it is hard to see in some of the pictures due to the lighting. Pictures 10 and 11 show the grips on the SAA that they came with, which along with the grips were made in 1880 (SN 61196). The grips are numbered to a different SAA (SN 69463) also made in 1880. The SAA was a buy back from the army and the new owner had the barrel cut down, the gun nickled and Ivory grips installed. Pictures 1-9 show the grips on a SAA that was made in 1898 (SN 179517). They are a perfect fit except at the bottom where they are slightly oversized (see pictures), but anybody who knows how to work with ivory can easily fit them to a SAA. An 18 year difference and they fit like a glove. That's quality craftmanship and attention to detail, especially considering that these were all fitted by hand.
