Description:
A 6.5mm smoothbore gun with the following features, short dummy cleaning rod measuring 4 1/2" long with a pointed tip. Inverted "v" front sight with no protective ears, a single screw fastened nose cap with bayonet lug. A mid band with spring fastener and sling swivel, peep sight with graduations to 1700 meters, no recoil lug, the receiver ring has 3 intertwined circles with # in the center. See page 174 "Military Rifles of Japan" by Honeycutt and Anthony showing the symbol to mean "Nippon Special Steel." No serial numbers on any part, a one piece stock with a white number 231 painted on the left side, a flat steel buttplate. A very nice trainer with a seldom seen receiver mark. FFL or C&R
