Description:
This beautiful pistol looks new and appears unfired. This model was made only in .22 LR between 1978 and 1982. Approximately 30,000 were manufactured. You will have to look real hard to find any defects in the metal (all blued) or wood ( nicely checkered). The rear sight is adjustable and there is a grip safety. It looks just like a Colt .45 caliber semi-automatic. It has a floating barrel, designed to simulate the recoil or "kick" of the .45 but using inexpensive .22 caliber ammunition.This model was originally designed during WW 2 to reduce the cost of ammunition used to train Army troops to shoot the Army .45 caliber service issued pistol. The bottom of the magazine is stamped: " Colt cal. .22LR". Some parts were treated with a matt blue finish. The slide is marked "Colt Service Model Ace". I don't believe you could upgrade this one.
