Description:
Serial #AM0964, .45 Colt, 10” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a spectacular revolver that was upgraded prior to final finish at Colt by Nutmeg Sports LLC and James V. Alaimo (the former superintendent of the Colt Custom Shop). The revolver was given 24kt embellishments on the ejector housing screw, ejector rod head, cylinder pin, pin screw, and the frame and grip screw heads. The remainder of the metal has brilliant Colt Royal Blue finish and “B” coverage engraving. The one-piece elephant ivory grip is expertly mid-relief carved with angled female nudes in conrtapposto poses. The ivory has a mellow, slightly off-white patina with subtle, yet visible graining. The revolver is housed in its original Colt presentation case with light blue velvet-lined interior (minus the key and scroll) and comes with an August 22, 2012, letter from Nutmeg Sports LLC (the company that made the grips and received the initial commission for the gun itself), signed by Mr. Alaimo. The letter details both the revolver as a whole as well as the work performed on the grips (these grips are featured on Nutmeg Sports' as well: #339 and #340 on their photo list). This is a fantastic and eye-catching Colt that features beautiful engraving and museum quality grips. FFL or C&R
