Description:
Serial #539280, .303 British, 26” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some touches of mild freckling within the grooves. This rifle has an arsenal renumbered bolt, and a non-matching rear sight with the metal retaining traces of the original blue finish on a few protected areas and gray fading and silvering at the muzzle as well as along the high edges, radii, and projections. The “ERA” maker mark and British military proofs are still fairly clear, and there is no visible import mark. The walnut stock (which has been numbered to match on the underside of the forend) and handguard have numerous small scattered handling marks in the otherwise very good reapplied military oil finish, and the volley sights have been removed. This is a nice Pattern 14, and is in very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
