Description:
Serial #A1258, .303 British, 25” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1942 dated rifle that has matching numbers on the nosecap, forend, and bolt. The metal retains 90-95% of the original phosphate finish that has faded to gray and silvered at the muzzle, as well as along the high edges and projections. The wooden stock and handguards have been arsenal refinished to fine condition and have some scattered small handling dings and minor surface blemishes as well as some faintly visible sanding marks along the sides of the buttstock. The brass buttplate has a darker brown-ochre patina and the stock compartment is empty. An original khaki canvassling is included.
