RARE HAVILAND & GUNN, ILION, N.Y. SINGLE SHOT PERCUSSION GALLERY PARLOR PISTOL CIRCA 1870’S. Percussion muzzle loading .17 caliber salon or gallery pistol with 5” round, smoothbore barrel. Unique cast, one piece frame, grip and barrel. Trigger guard acts as the main spring. Usually unmarked this example is marked on top of barrel “PAT. FEB. 6. 1877.’ And very probably manufactured by Remington Arms Co. also of Ilion, New York. Nickel plated with 70-80% remaining. Some dark patina and flaking. Working order. Will clean up considerably with a little polishing. Very scarce with probably less than 200 made and the only one we have had. See Flayderman #7C-019.
