Description:
CIVIL WAR REMINGTON U.S. NEW MODEL PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER CIRCA 1863. Early War production serial numbered in the 39,xxx range and all matching. Six shot .44 caliber with barrel shortened during the period of use to 4”. This is often encountered on revolvers that were captured by Confederate civilians and partisan Rangers that needed it to be more easily concealed. Very good overall with visible Remington barrel address. Has a very pleasing original patina. Original grips with wear. Working order. Quite colorful and has obviously seen Civil War service.
