Description:
SOLD..Antique Colt model 1860 revolver. 95% cylinder Scene. Excellent bore. Tight as new. Here is a very nice Colt 1860. S/N 135743 and ALL matching but the wedge is a different number but is an original Colt wedge. MFG. in 1863. Has the standard 8" barrel. The gun has no finish and has been cleaned. It is starting to take on an aged gray patina. The gun has NOT been buffed or polished on as ALL the markings and edges are excellent and sharp as you can see in the photos. Inspectors markings on the gun are clear also. The cylinder has 95% scene. The barrel address is sharp as are all the S/N. The COLT PAT marking on the frame is very good.  NO piiting on the gun at all. The mechanics are excellent to say the least. It locks up tight as new and with very little cylinder wobble on the cylinder arbor pin. Rock solid barrel to frame fit with the wedge. NO wobbles any where on this gun. Still has most all the safety pins remaining on the rear of the cylinder. The bore is excellent for a percussion revolver. It is still mostly bright and strong rifling with just some very minor and small spots of roughness. Much better than the average bore that I see on percussion revolvers. The chambers are not crater pitted like you usually see and just have very minor spots of roughness.  The grips are just about good with some old varnish added years ago and some varnish on the back strap and the butt.. Probably just smeard some varnish on to protect.. There is sizeable chip out of the left grip as you can see. The right grip is perfect. The grips fit excellent and tight to the gun with just traces of the cartouche on the right side as the added varnish has pretty much filed the cartouche.  The screw heads are not all burred up and all look original. The brass trigger guard has been cleaned but with no other issues. All in all this a great Colt 1860 that has just been cleaned over the years. Wish they would have just left it alone but it is what it is. The best part is that it has never been polished on. This gun will look even better with a few decades of time to take on a natural patina!!! Would be the most best shooter for sure with the excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. WAY better than the $1500 rattle trap beaters out there for sure. It is priced a bit higher but well worth the money. $30 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos of any certain area you want to see. This is a very nice and tight ole 1860 for the money.
