This is a BSA-maderifle has retained about 90-92% of an armory re-applied blue finish with some mild silvering along the exposed edges and high points, as well as at the exposed portion of the muzzle. The correct, matching bolt has a bright body with light finish loss along the handle and on the wide safety lug. An early micrometer rear sight is fitted and there are small, unobtrusive import stamps on the left side of both the receiver and the wrist socket. The forend and handguards have a fine military oil finish with scattered light handling marks and blemishes throughout, including some minor bruising along the forend and buttstock, and a carefully carved name on the left side: “H. MONTGOMERY”. A single, matching numbered magazine is included and there is the ghost of an old rack or issue mark/decal on the belly of the stock.
