Description:
"SALE PENDING" -  Early  Colt "Cloverleaf" pocket revolver - Cal. .41 RF - 3" Bbl. - 4 shot - SN 40XX(1872).  Bore is about excellent - bright and shiny with sharp rifling and shows only a very few spots of minor roughness. Action is excellent with perfect timing and lock-up.  Metal is excellent with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion.  The brass frame is unpolished and has a nice mellow tone - the cylinder retains 75% blue with some thinning - the barrel and ejector rod have  no blue, but have  a very pleasing dull silver tone. Grips appear to be rosewood and are undamaged with perfect fit to frame and retain about 95% finish.  A  popular early  pocket revolver, sometimes called the "Jim Fisk" model that was widely used in the old West as a back-up pocket revolver. Only about 7500 of this model  were made between 1871-1876.  This is a super example of a very early Cloverleaf in Fine to Excellent condition that will make a great collectible.
