Description:
Ballard Pacific 5 1/2 Montana, marked “45 calibre” Built on original Ballard Pacific forged action. Work was done by the New Ballard Rifle Company in Cody, Wyoming. The Ballard’s original serial number is 2149. Steve Garbe supervised the overhaul and rebuild of this originally forged action. The rifle weighs about 14 lbs, and features double set triggers, a 34” octagon barrel that is 1 1/4” wide at the action and 1 1/8th “ wide at the muzzle. The rear sight was built by Ron Heilmann of Puyallup, Washington. The butt is a shotgun butt plate made of iron and checkered in the original style. The bore is perfect and the wood is without any issues. Both 45-70 and 45-90 cartridges have been fired in the action. Credit cards add 3%, we offer a 3 day non-firing inspection period.
