Scarce and Exceptional Civilian Colt Model 1861 Navy Percussion Revolver. Serial no. 26078, manufactured in 1865, .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with German silver blade type front sight. New York City address. Blued finish. Case-hardened loading lever, hammer and frame. Frame marked: Colt's/Patent. Standard cylinder scene. The matching serial number 26078 is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the partial serial number on the arbor pin, wedge and cylinder. Condition: NRA Fine. Retaining approximately 50 - 60% original bleu finish with scattered light wear on the barrel and patina, most of blue at the bottom of the barrel, around the wedge and in the protected areas. Case-hardening remaining on lever, hammer and frame. Trigger guard and grip strap assembly retaining 85 - 95% of it's original finish. Grips are very fine a few minor marks and some of original varnish. Action tight and crisp. Bore is in good condition with minor visible pitting. A very fine and correct example of this model.
