VG+ bore, fine tight action with all the “clicks” on the correct long knurled hammer. The metal does show some light wear and minor salt-n-pepper pitting here and there as well as wear to the one-piece wood grips …which also have “MH” stamped on the left side in large block letters (see photos). The metal has an overall dull plum-brown patina, decent markings, and it has the correct Bulls-Eye ejector rod head. The ejector housing itself has been upgraded to the removeable rod style and this was likely done by a fort armorers upgrade or repair during this guns service period during the Indian War. A very decent looking Cavalry and a revolver inspected by one of the scarcest of Colt inspectors. Now, suffice to say this (…and this is a VERY important fact)…that since many, if not most pre-1900 Single Actions have been restored, enhanced, and/or “juiced-up” to some degree, especially these military marked ones, the buyer should always take that possibility into consideration. This gun has been priced with that in mind. VG+ $6350 SOLD Antique: Yes |
