Description:
#S7046, Weatherby Mark V Varmintmaster in 22-250, A One Off Custom German Weatherby Made by Request from Roy Weatherby and then gifted to a very good friend as well as a business associate at M&M Distributors in Carson, Calif., They distributed Weatherby product as well as many other American firearms, German proved in 1969, J.P. Sauer name & address on the barrel, Apparently Mr. Weatherby's friend didn't care for his stock style and had it done up as a pure Classic style stock, It was stocked by Engilbert Olafsson in the Weatherby shop in South Gate, Calif. (The address of this gun) & signed inside "E. Olafsson", He was a master gunstock maker, Englibert Olafsson and Walter Abe both worked for Weatherby Rifle Company in South Gate before opening their own shops, Mr. Olafsson later set up shop at 352 W. 3rd St in Long Beach Calif., It is believed he also did stock work for Pachmayr, It has a 26" barrel, A quality Canjar set trigger, 2 panel bolt knob checkering, Jeweled bolt & follower, Excellent piece of English Walnut, A Classic stock with a shadowline cheekpiece, Biesen checkered grip cap, Trapdoor checkered steel buttplate to 13 5/8" lop, Point pattern checkering, Slight schnabel forend, Excellent inletting, The piece remains in 98-99% condition since it left the Weatherby shop, The bore is new, The gun appears unfired since 1969 to this day. I received the gun from the son of the gentleman that it was given to as a gift from Mr. Weatherby.
