Description:
For sale for the first time ever!  A Winchester 66 saddle ring carbine that has been converted to shoot cheap center fire ammo.  It is the only such conversion I know about and is unique in the fact that I can be converted from original near impossible to find ultra expensive 44 Henry flat. Here is a genuine antique 1866 that can safely shoot 44 ammo for fun for hunting or simply to blow the mind of your Winchester collector friends. It took me months of calls searches inquiries finding and selection of proper components to make it work.  I had to engineer the bullet design to conform with the original rebated 44 in weight power and feeding reliability. It is the smoothest Winchester lever action I have ever owned . NONE of the originality of the carbine has been permanently altered or changed at all.  It is like two different guns in one!  Instead of the 50-75 dollars a shot for the original rim fire 44 Henry Flat - ( IF - you can even find ANY! ) - the proud new owner can shoot this classic cowboy/Indian legend legend for less than 1% of the cost of the original ammo.  My unique antique has been written up in feature articles in three major collector magazines including a 4 page article complete with eight pictures in the Winchester Repeater!  The carbine itself is a late model in higher than average condition with excellent original undamaged wood.  The bore is fairly decent at about a 7. The receiver is a clean but unpolished and unworn nice mustard color. Address markings are all there and there is some extensive flaking of the finish on the barrel but no rust or pitting or even brown anywhere. It is actually a pretty nice looking example and from a short distance could be mistaken for a replica. The picture pretty well tell the story. The center fire conversion parts are made by Uberti for their replica model 1866 and fit perfectly. ALL of the original breechblock and firing pin parts are clean and 100% serviceable and can be replaced in a matter of minutes. The action is smooth as silk but not worn. The loads I have created are within 5% of the original velocities ( by chronograph) using the same original weight projectiles.  All of the devices special mould jigs and fixtures are included as are extra new brass projectiles and FIFTY loaded rounds. The exclusive featured magazine adds will also be included  The smokeless powder I chose is perfect for this application and is called Trail Boss. Own a Winchester legend that only a handful of people on EARTH today have shot!  It is the ONLY such carbine for sale in the country today as far as I know.  Probably a one of a kind. Only a handful of very late models were made in 44 center fire and are extremely scarce. I have never seen one nor known anyone who has. You will probably never in your lifetime see another one like it. Please phone for details on this unique Winchester legend  813-8861235 ( Fl) No special licenses needed and can be shipped direct to your residence
