Description:
Serial #AA5842, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a BSA-made, 1943 dated rifle has retained about 90-92% of an armory applied phosphate finish with some mild silvering along the exposed edges and high points, as well as a fair amount at the exposed portion of the muzzle. The correct, but non-matching bolt has a bright body with light finish loss along the handle and on the wide safety lug. A sheet metal Mk. IV adjustable rear sight is fitted and there is a small import stamp on the underside of the barrel. The forend and handguards have a fine military oil finish with scattered light handling marks and blemishes throughout, including some minor bruising along the forend and buttstock. A single unnumbered magazine is included which has minor freckling and pinprick pitting on the exposed portion. This is a handsome, World War II Lee-Enfield rifle and rates fine condition overall. {Ref. “The Lee-Enfield A Century of Lee-Metford & Lee-Enfield Rifles & Carbines” by Ian Skennerton; 2007} FFL or C&R
