Description:
This Wincheser is an all complete Winchester M1 rifle. The serial number is 2402157. All the parts are correct for this time frame of 1944 and serial number block. This rifle has the correct early short fork operating rod and gas piston cap. That means that this rifle was not set up to use a grenade launcher. That ability came latter. The original Winchester barrel is bright and clean. The muzzle is not flared out but tight, the chamber is also very fine. The operating rod is also uncut and is an all original no rebuild part. The front sight has the correct flared ears for Winchester. All the small parts such as the safety, hammer trigger guard and so on have the correct Winchester coding. The stock has the WRA-GHD stamp and ordnance wheel above the trigger. The buttplate is also correct. The sling is dated 1944. All the parts appear to have the original finish. The possible exception is the reciever, I believe that part to have been redipped long ago. The wood shows normal wear and service use. It has not been sanded. Winchester Garands are very hard to find in complete original condition. This rifle should satisfy most collectors of Winchester and military firearms. There just is not that many nice Winchester M1 Rifles left out there anymore. Here is a chance to have a all Winchester M1. Search for hlvfineguns on google.
