Description:
- Josef Kirner Dueling/ Target Percussion Pistol
- Caliber: .475
- Barrel: 10"
- Note: This fine percussion pistol is number 2 of an originally cased two gun set made by Josef Kirner Sr. in Budapest. By the barrel signature, it would've been made between 1832 and 1842. The barrel is marked "Kirner es Fija Pesten". The lock plate is marked "Kirner". The off-side plate is marked "Pesten". The bottom barrel flat, just ahead of the forend, is marked "Scheib Pisl No. 1". On the tang, behind the rear sight, is the number "2" in a small oval. The only apologies are that the hammer is cracked between the head and the shaft and that there is a crack just above the double set trigger. Hopefully our photos can give you an idea of the bas relief engraving.
