Description:
Fine Colt Model 1848 Baby Dragoon, serial #14169 (1850 manufacture), with loading lever and rectangular cylinder stops (see Flayderman--this variation began to appear in serial range of about 11600). This gun is labeled in the Blue Book as an 1848 Baby Dragoon "Type V". Fine condition, with 95% cylinder scene, 25% of the original silver plate, and fine plus grips with 95% of original varnish. All markings are sharp, and steel shows the beginning of salt and pepper erosion. All parts are original, including the usual squareback trigger guard. Photos show well the colors and surface conditions. This variation with this cylinder scene condition makes this a very rare example. I'm not a dealer, just a private collector. Thanks for looking.
