Description:
This is a very nice Colt Model 1851 Navy/Navy. .36 caliber percussion. Has "U.S" . on left side of frame, below"COLTS/PATENT". In large letters it is marked :"U*S*A*/ 1/ S*C*R" on the butt end. Has small "S" & "M". inspector's markings. It is marked on the top barrel flat: "--ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW,YORK CITY--" . Has Approx. 80-90% of cylinder scene , with engagement dates, is still visible. All matching serial numbers, including the wedge. Has Iron Back strap and Trigger Guard. Serial #62112 manf. in 1857. The action is crisp and has an excellent bright bore. Has 7.5" barrel. Looks like 19th Century Refinish, possibly, arsenal applied. Grips are very nice with very little wear.
