Winchester 1896 rifle chambered in .45-90 W.C.F and manufactured in 1891. Features include a 26” full octagon barrel, full length mag tube, color cased frame, adjustable rear sight, dove tailed front sight, walnut straight stock and steel crescent butt plate. You have to look real hard but there are shadows of the color casing and no finish to speak of on the metal. The wood has been sanded and the metal is proud in pleases. The bore is not bad and there are is no deep pitting. Being here in Colorado this rifle congers up thoughts of hunting Elk, Moose and Buffalo back in the late 1800’s. What a great piece of Iconic American history.
