Description:
Serial #3448676, .30-06, 24” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that has an early, four-groove, 2-43 dated, "RA" barrel and retains 90-92% of the original parkerized finish that has silvered and faded to gray on the high edges and corners. The original blue has likewise faded along the bearing surfaces and handle of the bolt. The most noticeable fading occurs on the exposed portion of the barrel near the muzzle and on the trigger guard/floorplate which has a mostly gray patina. The walnut stock is in fine shape with a fairly thick added military oil finish, but the “F.J.A.” and Ordnance Dept. cartouches are now only faintly visible on the left side of the wrist. Minor handling marks and small blemishes are present throughout, and there is an armory repair at the rear sling swivel. The original front sight has been replaced by a Redfield sporting bead front sight which works quite well with the stock aperture rear. This is a great looking World War II '03-A3 that rates about fine condition overall, and would make a terrific shooter. FFL or C&R
