Description:
Serial #33434, .52 Spencer, 22” barrel with a very good, six-groove bore that has some mild freckling along its length. This carbine has an overall dark plum-brown patina that is mixing with pewter gray at the muzzle, on the exposed edges, and around the rear of the frame. There is some darkly mottled freckling along the barrel and other metal components with some additional areas of mild pitting at the muzzle as well as along some of the edges of the frame and lever. The walnut forend and buttstock have been sanded and re-varnished with scattered light-moderate bruises and marks throughout and still visible cartouches on the left side under an old with-the-grain crack. The magazine tube is in very good shape with a functional spring and follower and the mechanism is tight and functions flawlessly. This is a very good Spencer overall and has a fine and attractive “Wild West” look. Antique
