Description:
Serial #ZX5430, 6.5mm Carcano, 33 1/2” barrel with a very good bore that has mild freckling along its length. This is a smokeless conversion of an 1891 dated Model 1870/87 rifle and retains about 75-80% of the blue finish added by the armory when the rifle was converted. There is silvering and gray fading along the high edges and projections with some speckled freckling and small impact marks at the barrel bands. The bolt has a mottled gray patina with dark brown freckling on the handle and shroud. The walnut stock was armory renumbered to the gun, and has an overall armory refinish to fine condition with minor handling marks and small surface blemishes as well as a still legible Terni Arsenal cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. The cleaning rod is included and the rifle rates very good condition overall. Antique
