Description:
Serial #236444, .303 British, 26” barrel with a very good, bright bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This rifle has an Eddystone marked bolt that was arsenal renumbered to match, and a matching numbered, “R” marked rear sight with the metal retaining about 80% plus of the original matte blue finish with silvering at the muzzle as well as along the high edges and projections, particularly on the bearing surfaces of the bolt. The “RE (in oval)” maker mark and British military proofs are still crisp and clear, and a small, unobtrusive import mark is present on the underside of the barrel just ahead of the nosecap. The walnut stock and handguard have numerous small scattered handling marks in the otherwise very good reapplied military oil finish, and the volley sights have been removed. The rifle comes with a British khaki canvassling, and is a very good example of an armory refurbished Pattern 14 overall. FFL or C&R
