Description:
Serial # 7xx, mfg. 1878 as marked in a triangle on the rec ring. Round 29" barrel marked "For Westley Richards Metford Military Cartridge", with Rigby flat, 97% blue turning an even coffee brown with , excellent Metford rifled bore, 1 Stdg & 3 Fldg express sights marked 100, 150, 200, 250 and an "ivory" bead pedestal mtd front. The predominantly silver/gray receiver has 90% coverage of fine scroll engraving with DEELEY-EDGE / PATENT in a banner on the right side and WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co / LIMITED LONDON in a banner on the left. Excellent+ wood, restored dark streaked walnut w/ steel BP, round knob PG, horn forend tip, swivel eyes and flawless flat top checkering at wrist and fully wrapped around forend. Weight 8 lb 14 oz, LOP 14 1/4".
