Marlin, Ranger Arms, 16ga, O/U, top choke IM, bottom choke IC, extractor, silver soder side ribs, double trigger, steel trigger guard, checkered walnut stock, very tight gun, ivory bead, original finish, original buttplate, 28" barrel, 90% + overall condition, "JM" stamped on left side bottom of barrel.
These shotguns were produced for Sears to market in their stores. Those produced for Sears have the prefix 103 in their serial numbers and were marked "Ranger" before WWII and "J.C. Higgins" after the war. Prior to 1945 they were not marked Marlin; after that date Sears requested that the company stamp their name on the guns.
