Description:
For sale is a beautiful James Purdey & Sons 12 gauge side-by-side shotgun with leather case. Other than a small scuff on the under-side of the stock (shown in pictures), this shotgun is in excellent condition. The shotgun has 26" barrels and fixed cylinder/modified chokes.
Audley House provided us with this history about the shotgun:
Completed in August 1908 for S. E. Hutchinson.
30" barrels made of Whitworth steel, 2 1/2" chambers, chokes very tight cylinder both barrels (3/8 choke), extra barrels fitted in July 1911 26" made of Whitworth steel, 2 1/2" chambers, chokes right good tight cylinder(3/8 choke) left modified choke, .
Original stock length 14 5/8" mid, restocked in September 1936 to the same measurements.
Original weight of gun 6lb 10oz.
