Description:
This is a Winchester 1876 Saddle Ring Carbine in .45-75. This Winchester 1876 Carbine was used by the Citizens Guard of Hawaii in the 1890's and is so marked on the butt stock. The serial number search in the Hawaiian Guard records show this particular rifle was issued to B.H. Norton. Mr Norton was a member of Citizens Guard as well as an Officer in the Kamehameha Lodge of Perfection No. 1, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, March 11, 1895. The rifle is missing the front barrel/bayonet lug screw on the left side. The bore is bright and shiny with just a tad of pitting toward the muzzle. Action works great. The finish is very good, turning brown as expected. This 1876 SRC was made in 1882, so it's an antique and can be directly shipped to US Residents within the 50 states.
