Very clean Eddystone with a good bore, with strong rifling and typical corrosion down in the grooves from war time corrosive primers. The action very smooth, and medal is mostly blue, with wear and fading of color. The barrel dated 04-18, and the American walnut stock is good,with a hand rubbed oil finish like original, with minor wartime dings, and scrapes, nothing serious for a battle used rifle. Overall a clean gun that's not been abused.SN 5268XX. Action locks up tight, and is a good example of the clean WWI rifle.the Eddystone bolt has a serial number close to the gun of: 542623. this s common as the squad armorer cleaned guns and didn't assemble guns matching, as at the front there may not have been time to p,ay that game.
