Winchester Model 1866 .44 Centerfire rifle. Note: High serial number 1866's were made in Centerfire. This rifle was made in 1898 and was among the last produced. Barrel has an even brown patina with some patina with some light to medium pitting. Barrel has strong rifling and is bright but also has some pit spots. Serial number on this rifle is 170.054. Brass has a nice even patina and a pleasing appearance. Wood is very good and may be from a model 73 as the last 1866 rifles sometimes were made with 73 stocks. This probably the latest '66 we have handled.
